2020 NSF: Nimrod commends Sunday Dare for sports development

The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod has commended Sports Minister, Sunday Dare for his passion for sports development. Nimrod stated this when the sports minister paid an unscheduled visit to the volleyball centre during the 2020 National Sports Festival in Benin, Edo state. Nimrod said the festival has created an avenue for upcoming and established athletes to showcase their talents after a year of inactive sporting activities. He said, "The Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare has brought new innovation into the sports sector of the country. You can see that most abandoned programs have been revived and sports is developing rapidly. "If you look at the records in the festival, they are made by young upcoming athletes. Most athletes are hungry for competition because 2020 season was ruined by COVID-19. NWFL Premiership Super Six holds in Ijebu Ode April 19 to 25

The board of the Nigeria Women Football League headed by Aisha Falode has released the dates for the NWFL Super Six to determine the champion for the 2020/2021 season.                                      The Super Six will hold at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode from April 19 to 25th.                                        The official schedule reads that the top six clubs are expected to arrive Ijebu-Ode on April 18 and go straight into draws and pre-match meetings which has been fixed for 5pm prompt.            Match Day 1 is on Monday, April 19, 2021 with three matches.  The Match Day 2 is on Tuesday, April 20, also with three matches. Access Bank Lagos City Marathon: Elite runners arrive from Kenya, Ethiopia

The strong cast of elite runners invited for the 2021 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon are now in town for Saturday’s eagerly-anticipated race. According to an official statement released by Olukayode Thomas, Head Communication and Media for the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, over 95% of the elite runners have already arrived in Lagos while a few others are scheduled to jet in early Thursday. Thomas confirmed that the 2019 Women champion, Meseret Dinke and fellow Ethiopians Sechale Dalasa, Motu Megersa and Obse Abdeta have all arrived from their respective bases. Obse was among the top ten finishers at the last Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon where she posted an impressive time of 2:29:30. Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon Get AIMS certification

The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) has certified the Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon. CEO of Nilayo Sports Management, Hon. Bukola Olopade confirmed the AIMS certification even as he noted that the Ijebu Heritage Half marathon will be one of the few races to receive the top grading from AIMS even before the maiden edition. He said, “We at Nilayo are extremely glad to be having the measurement done for the Ijebu Heritage Half marathon. It further goes to show the professionalism which we do our races. Excellent Kaduna BSC disarmed Igbogbo Kingdom BSC

Kaduna Beach Soccer Club maintained their 100% record in the ongoing Nigeria Beach Soccer League, defeating Igbogbo Kingdom BSC 4-2 in a pulsating match to Roundup the first round of the league on excellent note. The Kada boys was able to overcome an early minutes goal deficit to level 1-1 in the 7mins of the 1st period, thanks to Tanko Emmanuel whose powerful shot rocketcheted the Igbogbo goalposts to the back of the net and drew his team level. Kaduna BSC pummeled HCF EDO BSC to maintain perfect start

Kaduna Beach Soccer Club demonstrated their proficiency and excellent team work as they seamlessly dispatched HCF EDO Beach Soccer Club on Sunday to maintain their 100% record in the ongoing Nigeria Beach Soccer League. The Kada boys started the match on the  back of victory in their last game and were 3 goals up in as many minutes in the 1st period.  Once again the team captain Chidozie Frank inspired his team to yet another victory scoring quadruple which increase his goal tally to 6 in the league. Clement Egonosi open the score chart as he found the back of the net in the opening 2 minutes, followed by Chidozie Frank and Tanko Emmanuel as the Kada team raced to a 3-0 within the opening 10 mins of the game. Kaduna Beach Soccer Club began their campaign in the maiden edition of  Nigeria Beach Soccer League with a victory over Smart City Beach Soccer Club on Saturday. The victory put the Kada boys at loggerhead with Igbogbo Beach Soccer Club at the top of group B log with 3 points apiece. The Kaduna Beach Soccer Club Captain has reiterate the need for his team to maintain the momentum and finish the first round of the league matches with maximum points available. "It was great to start our league campaign with a victory.
