Volleyball: Kada Kings top first phase of Division 1 League

Kada Kings finished top at the first phase of the just concluded 2021 National Division 1 Volleyball League in Kaduna State with 21 points. Kada Kings beat Kwara United 3-1 (28-26, 25-19, 22-25, 25-10) in the men's final match at Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) to remain unbeaten in 7 matches during the first phase. Speaking with newsmen after the match, the Head Coach of Kada Kings, Jonathan David commended his players for not giving up in the first set despite the scorelines which seem impossible to recover. David said the unbeaten run was made possible due to his players determination and hardwork. "I am overexcited being unbeaten team so far in the tournament and it is due to our hardwork and determination. The first set was a bit dicey because Kwara United were leading 24-19 but the players had to give their best and we eventually won the set which was miraculous. Katsina unites to devour Wolves by Nnosiri solitary goal

Katsina United returns to winning ways on NPFL Match Day 24 with 1-0 victory over Warri Wolves at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium thanks, to Samuel Nnosiri 1st half strike.  Shaking off the disappointment of the last outing against Adamawa United where the Changi boys were outdone by questionable calls from center referee denying the team a legitimate penalty in the process, the Bishir Sadauki tutelage team were ontop of their game against Warri Wolves from the blast of the whistle and were rewarded with a deservedly earned 3 points.  The victory has propelled Katsina United to 15th position with 25 points on the NPFL table howbeit playing a game more than Wikki Tourist who occupies the 16th position with 24 points. Katsina United will sqaure up against Nasarawa United in their next game as they hope for a favourable result in their quest to stay clear of relegation zone.

Udeh Kingsley Denied Katsina United Valuable Point in Yola

The week 23 NPFL match played on Wednesday May 26 between Adamawa United and Katsina United at the Ribadu Square Stadium, Yola have been won and lost but the feel of injustice call by the center referee Udeh Kingsley will remain as fresh as dew in the heart of Katsina United faithfuls.  The keenly contested match had the Shingi boys trailing by a lone goal courtesy of own goal by Abdulmalik Sanusi but were determined to get back on level terms. FIFPRO and FIFA to provide health support to recently retired football players

FIFPRO and FIFA have signed a three-year cooperation agreement to provide health support to hundreds of recently retired professional footballers facing the challenges that come with career transition. Developed by FIFPRO, FIFA and Amsterdam University Medical Center, the After-Career Consultation Programme will include a free initial medical examination and additional check-ups if needed, plus reading material and guidance on detraining, diet, mental health and joint pain. From June 2021, players who have retired within the last ten years will benefit from the initiative at 42 FIFA Medical Centres of Excellence located in 30 countries. FIFPRO’s 64 affiliated national player unions will encourage footballers dealing with difficulties during their initial retirement years to join the programme. Gumel Re-Elected As ANOCA Treasurer

The President of Nigeria Olympic Committee, Engineer Habu Ahmed Gumel has been re-elected as Treasurer of Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) at the General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Gumel, an Ambassador of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) defeated his Togolese opponent, Deladem Akpaki by 43 to 10 votes. Also, Algeria's Mustapha Berraf, President of ANOCA was re-elected after defeating Mrs. Lydia Nsekera from Burundi 38 to 15 while the Secretary General, Ahmed Hashim from Sudan retained his position beating Senegalese Seydina Omar by 29 to 24 votes. The elected officers will serve Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) for the next four years.

Team Kada rules 2021 President Beach Volleyball Cup

Team Kada emerged champions in the U18 Girls, U19 Boys and men's senior at the just concluded 2021 President Beach Volleyball Cup in Kaduna. Engr. Musa Nimrod, Chairman Caretaker Committee Nigeria Volleyball Federation flanks by victorious Kada Volleyball players Kada Emeralds beat Pro Spikers of Lokoja 2-0 (21-14, 21-19) to win gold in the U18 Girls event while Goldening Spikers of Anambra zoomed pass Sokoto 2-0 (21-15, 21-13) to win bronze medal. Kada Kings shocked Pro Spikers of Lokoja as they came back from a game down to win gold medal in the U19 Boys category. Kada Kings won the game 2-1 (19-21, 21-8, 15-10) in front of their home fans while Zamfara placed third position beating Borno 2-0 (21-12, 21-12). Kada Kings beat NSCDC 2-1 (21-19, 21-23, 15-13) to emerge new champions in the men's category. NBSL 2021: Kada BSC maintain unbeaten streaks as league's second stanza resumes in Birni-Kebbi

The second stanza of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League resumed today in Birni-Kebbi, Kebbi state with Kaduna Beach Soccer Club continuing with their impressive unbeaten run. The Kada team amassed maximum 9 points during the first stanza of the league in Lagos earlier in April and emerged 6-5 victorious against highly spirit Igbogbo Kingdom BSC today to make it 4-in-4 winning streaks. The keenly contested encounter was a game of each halve with Igbogbo Kingdom BSC winning the  first period 3-2. Dozie Frank and Tanko Emmanuel goals were not enough to get the league leader level in the half.
