Showtime Flag Football Unveils Ambitious Plans for Nationwide Expansion

In the aftermath of the electrifying 2025 Showtime Bowl in Lagos, Azeez Amida, Chairman of Showtime Flag Football, has revealed immediate plans for a nationwide expansion of the league. The sold-out event, which marked the end of the season, drew fans, families, and sports enthusiasts from across the city and showcased the league's potential for growth.

Amida announced plans to expand the league to six states by the end of 2026, signaling a new era for flag football in Nigeria. "We're expanding. By the end of next year, we aim to be in at least six states. The goal is to spread Showtime Flag Football across Nigeria and introduce more communities to this incredible sport," Amida said.

Beyond geographic expansion, Amida shared his long-term vision: creating a viable professional pathway for aspiring flag football players within Nigeria. "We want our players to dream big to the point where they can say, 'I want to be a professional flag football player.' We're building something that can become part of the Nigerian dream, right here at home," he emphasized.

The 2025 Showtime Bowl was a powerful showcase of what's possible when sport, community, and purpose come together. With elite athleticism, unforgettable entertainment, and an unwavering commitment to youth development, Showtime Flag Football has made one thing clear — this isn't just a game, it's a movement.

The Warriors clinched the championship title in dramatic fashion, defeating longtime rivals Lagos Athletics Knights (LA) 40–23 in front of an energetic crowd. Nigerian hip-hop star Sean Tizzle headlined the halftime show, while a live DJ kept energy levels high with dynamic mixes throughout the evening.


Amida praised the tireless work of his team in delivering yet another memorable event. "Honestly, I'm blown away. I'm super impressed with what we've built. Huge kudos to the entire team — I'm just happy to be the guy standing in front of the camera representing all the hard work." As the league looks to the future, Amida's words resonate: "We've done a lot, but we're just getting started. When you experience what we've created here, you understand it's special. Now, we want to take that feeling everywhere."

NFF CSO harass and bullies Canada based journalist Adewale Ajayi, destroys Camera
