Ladegbuwa FC gear up preparation for Viareggio football tournament, Italy

Nigeria Nationwide League One side Ladegbuwa FC are intensifying preparation for this year's edition of Viareggio Youth campootball Tournament in Italy.

The Viareggio Cup World Football Tournament also known as Coppa Carnevale, is a youth association football tournament held annually in the commune of Viareggio, Italy and it's considered as one of the most important youth football tournaments in the world.

Ladegbuwa FC will be competing in the 2023 NLO season and would be hoping to better their last season's debut performance in the league. In preparation for the new season the team management are planning to expose the players to series of football events to keep them in good shape and afford them an opportunity to horn their skills.

Sporting Director of the club, Wale Joseph said this is one of many activities lined up for the team this year. "We have a crop of young players who are rookies and need all the exposure available to enhance their football knowledge and garner better understanding. Our team, Ladegbuwa Football Club, is going to be participating in a series of football tournaments this year as we would like to build on the existing structure.

Last year we won the Ogun State APFAN Super cup after missing out on NLO 1 playoffs."

"The Viareggio Football tournament is one important youth tournament and we'll be glad to see our players rub shoulders with some of the best young players across the globe. Our objective is to give our players maximum exposure at youth levels and the desire is to see them compete effectively at every event we put in for."

This is one of many huge tasks for us as a club  and we're leaving no stone unturned. We have beef up our technical crew headed by coach Shakiru Giwa to prepare the players for the enormous task and I think they're going to give it the best shot they can."

This year's edition is the 73rd of Viareggio tournament and slated between March 20 to Apr 3, 2023 in Viareggio, Province of Lucca, Italy.
