Beach Volleyball: Nigeria teams win gold at Zone 3 U21 Championship

Nigeria have emerged champions of the just concluded Zone 3 U21 Beach Volleyball Championship in the Boys’ and Girls’ category on Sunday. Nigeria defeated host, Benin Republic I 2-0 (21-14, 21-17) in the boys’ final while Nigeria pummeled the first team of Benin Republic 2-0 (21-11, 21-13) in the Girls’ category. The duo of Emenike Ezike and Emmanuel Udah represented Nigeria in the boys’ event while Happy Wushiland and Esther Mbah wore the colours of the country in the girls’ event. An elated Emmanuel Udah said he is looking forward to other international outings after winning his first international medal in 2022. Beach Volleyball: Nigeria U21 qualifies for Semifinals

Nigeria U21 teams have qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing Zone 3 U21 Beach Volleyball Championship in Cotonou, Benin Republic. The duo of Emenike Ezike and Emmanuel Udah (Nigeria boys), schooled Benin Republic 2-0 (21-4, 21-6) in their first match before taking Niger Republic to the cleaners 2-0 (21-11, 21-19) in their second match on Friday. The Nigeria girls team, Happy Wushiland and Esther Mbah did not waste time to dispatch Benin Republic 2-0 (21-10, 21-9) in their first match and won their second match convincingly against Ghana 2-0 (21-14, 21-8). The coach of Nigeria U21 beach volleyball team, John Iwerima expressed satisfaction over the performances of the team at the championship. Nigeria To Participate In Second Consecutive Winter Olympic Games.

Nigeria will be attending its second winter Olympics in Beijing with an athlete after making its debut in 2018 at the Pyeongyang, South Korea, Winter Olympics.  For the first time in history, Nigeria will field a cross-country skier named Samuel Ikpefan at the forthcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.   Samuel Ikpefan, born in Annemasse in the French Alps and activated his dual nationality switch in 2016 will be the first Nigerian skier to qualify for the Olympics and the first male athlete to make the Games.  In similar vein, Dr. Seun Adigun will be contesting into the IOC Athletes’ Commission at the Games. NFF CSO harass and bullies Canada based journalist Adewale Ajayi, destroys Camera

The Chief security officer of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Adejoh Francis went berserk on Monday at the team's hotel Le Ribadou in Garoua Cameroon, attacking renowned sports journalist Adewale Ajayi and a few other colleagues.  The arrogant and highly untrained official is renowned for harassing accredited journalists without recourse to individual reputation or societal standing.  Despite making frantic efforts to explain to him that he already secured permission from the media officer of the Super Eagles to speak with key members of the team, the CSO refused to bulge, throwing blows at the journalists and pushing them out of the teams camp.  A few persons around the team camp had earlier complained about the way he talks to journalists and mentioned one major instance where he attacked two Lagos based cameramen at the Super Eagles camp, threatening to destroy their cameras if they fail to leave the premises.  On Monday, at the Hotel Le Ribadou, Francis was again at ...

The Nigeria Olympic Committee, under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee, will be holding a-3-day seminar on sports administration for sports administrators/officers of Nigeria Association of Physical & Health Education and other sports organisations from Wednesday 19th to Friday 21st January 2022 in Lagos.  The sports administration course will equip sports administrators with the knowledge and tools that will help bring about changes and improvements in their sports organisations.   The course will also help stakeholders develop, maintain solid and sustainable administrative structures that can deliver the support needed by the athletes and the administrators. AFCON 2021: Nimrod bids Nigerian Journalists farewell

The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod has charged Nigerian journalists covering the 2021 African Football Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon to promote the country's football team. He gave the charge to journalists on Nigeria Sports Mouthpiece (NSM Reloaded) on Sunday. Nimrod, who double as the Chairman of Kaduna State Beach Soccer, advised journalists traveling via water to use their life jacket while plying River Benue through Yola. Park Volleyball: 37 teams indicates interest for 2022 Kontagora Invitational Challenge

A total of 37 teams are expected to take part in this year’s edition of Kontagora Invitational Volleyball Challenge slated for the First Quarter of 2022.
