NNL All Stars are Amapro Football Championship champions

NNL All Stars were crowned champions of the 6th edition of Amapro Football Championship after they defeated Abraysports 4-2 on penalties. The full time score stood at 1-1 even as both teams tried to outwit themselves while trying to take their chances during the game.  Abraysports had the better of the match as they dominated play creating several scoring chances in the first stanza. Obadun Abdulrasheed jumped highest in the area to nod home the opener for Ilorin based Abraysports on 30 minutes. Ibrahim Hameed curled the ball beyond the wall and it rested at the back of the net for NNL All Stars' leveller.  All Stars dominated play in the second half and should have won it but the Abraysports defence were solid keeping their lines. Both teams then had to decide their fate via penalties after the referee signaled end of the game. NNL All Stars, Abraysports in Amapro Football Championship final The Ladi Ojokojo led team edged Da Faria 4-3 on penalties after regulation was 1-1, while Abraysports humbled William Falla 3-1. Samson Isiaka put the Lagos based team ahead with a cool finish in the 3rd minute of the game. All Stars came from behind to cancel Da Faria lead as Sodiq Alamoyo slotted into the bottom corner on 25 minutes. The second half was even for both teams as they displayed best of football artistry to the amusement of the Ilorin fans. According to Madam Aisha Falode, the tournament is aimed at generating positive conversations around the social issues across the world.  "It's all about creating awareness concerning social issues around the world" The respected super administrator further stated that the organisers are trying to create a unique brand for the country that will stand the test of time. "It is going to be continuous project and will last many years, we can sustain it".  It's understood that the organisers of the tournament are making solid efforts to deliver a world class tournament for the country and for the continent.

World Volleyball U-19 championship: We are going to Iran to win, says Team Nigeria Captain

The captain of the U-19 national volleyball male team Michael Abari has promised the nation that the boys will go for glory in Iran. The team jet out of Abuja last night to participate in the world under 19 volleyball tournament holding this weekend in Tehran (Iran). The skipper of the team Michael Abari said that he is optimistic that the team will perform creditably well at the tourney. "We have been in camp for 3 months and we are ready for the competition". He said, the team is ready to best their previous records in the tournament.  "We know where we stand the last time, right now we want to bring glory to Nigeria, we can better our previous achievements". Nigeria is grouped with Iran, Poland and Guatemala for the World Cup that starts on August 24th.

Taekwondo: Jonathan Nnaji Aims Double; Vies for World Council Member and Vice President Africa Teakwondo Union

Chief (Dr) Jonathan Nnaji, Former President of Nigeria Taekwondo Federation will be heading for twin elections in the month of October as he vies to be elected as a Council member of World Teakwondo. The organization which is the world governing body of Teakwondo with headquarter in Seoul, Korea will admit two members from Africa into its governing council body. The two slots alloted for Africa will be keenly contested by 8 (eight) candidates from the continent. Contesting with Chief Jonathan Nnaji are Mr Balls Dieye from Senegal, Cyprian Bigirimsna of Burundi, and David Gidion KOK from South Africa. Others are Idriss El Hilali from Morocco, Issaka Ide from Niger, Mohamed Shaaban of Egypt and Major Suleiman Sumba from Kanye. The election is slated for 11 October, 2021 in Wuxi, China. Samuel Kalu, Others Are Not For Sale As Katsina Utd Issued Stern Warning To Clubs And Football Agents

Katsina United FC wishes to inform the general public, particularly the Clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) that the club has not release any of its players that finished the 2020/2021 with the team. Further, Katsina United has not enter any negotiation or agreement with any club representative(s) or agent in view of transfer for any of its players, most especially Samuel Kalu who has been a subject of transfer speculation in the media space. Kalu still has one year left on his contract with Katsina United and we are expecting him to honour his contractual agreement with the club by resuming to duty once the camp is opened for preparation of the new season. Katsina United warns that any Club or agent approaching any of its players for the purpose of transfer without the Club’s approval faces the risk of a lawsuit.

Tebo Franklin completes loan switch to BK Hacken

Swedish Allsvenskan club BK Hacken have announced the capture of highly rated Nigeria central defender Tebo Franklin on a five-month loan. Tebo Franklin last played for Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). The transfer was confirmed on Saturday morning after the Nigeria international arrived Sweden during the week. Hacken have an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season, with a four-year deal on the table. Tebo Franklin was marketed to BK Hackens via TikiTaka earlier in the year and was later seen in NPFL games on the NPFL TV App. He later got a chance to feature in a scouting programme in June, after a pre contract had been signed. The 21-year-old is expected to have the company of Barcelona product Godswill Ekpolo at the Bravida Arena, Gothenburg. Tebo has spent the past two seasons on loan at Nasarawa United. He played in the friendly defeat of Super Eagles to Mexico in Los Angeles last month.
