Momentum heightens as Basketball Players jostles for supremacy

Talents at the North East Elite Basketball camp came with improved performances on day two of the camping exercise at the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall, Gombe. 




Saturday's training programmes were fused with entertainment to keep the 100 kids present engaged as the journey to the  All Star Game selection continues. 


With the kids divided into different teams under the supervision of the local and international coaches, it was all about getting the best out the kid through concentrated training regimens. 


Speaking at the end of day two in Gombe, D'Tigers Associate Head coach and Chief Instructor, Alex Nwora assured the players of more fun on the grand finale after the various group matches. 





"Tomorrow will be more fun as there will be shooting contest, dunking contest and the All Star game". 


Nwora, went on to charge the players on the need for education which will definitwly bolster their chances of being better athletes and open doors of opportunity within Nigeria and abroad. 


"You must make out time to look at your books too. This is a great opportunity for you as this is not common in Nigeria. School like the University of Nigeria Nsukka and University of Port Harcourt also have a scholarship plan for talented sports boys and girls". 


"In the US also, colleges and High Schools which are the developmental bedrocks of basketball system will not accept you if you are not in school." 


The three day camp in partnership with Adamu Yola Ture Foundation will climax today, 11 April, 2021.
