Meet SESC Patron, Chief Victor Nwaribeaku, CEO, VCN Sports Ltd.

VCN Sports Limited is a household name  in the business of sports equipment supply across the federation. The company C.E.O Chief Victor Nwaribeaku (Akwu-Ugo) was recently inducted as the Patron of Super Eagles Supporters Club and had a media chat with journalists after the colourful events at the Super Eagles Supporters Club Sectariat in Lagos.

Chief Victor Nwaribeaku:

"VCN Sports Ltd is a household name in general sports equipment. We are into the supply of all sporting equipment for football, handball, basketball, rugby, badminton, hockey, table tennis, long tennis, physically challenged sports equipment, fitness machine etc."

Against the backdrop of the ongoing renovation of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos which previously housed VCN Sports complex, the company has moved to a state of the art edifice, VCN Sports Plaza, situated inside Teslim Balogun Stadium and has its headquarters at Ojuelegba, Lagos.

A staunch sports aficionado, the Imo state born passion for sports endeared him into sport business and was fully supported and tutor by his uncle who is equally into sports equipment business.

"Actually, what motivated me to go into sports business is the passion I have for the game of football. After my graduation from higher institution, my uncle, the C.E.O of S.O.O & BROTHERS LTD, who is also into sports equipment business took me along, and under his tutelage I learnt the nitty gritty of the business and I established my own business in the year 2000.

I love sports in general before delving into the business and the passion has been a catalyst for our success and achievements so far in the journey."

Chief Victor Nwaribeaku was inducted as the Patron of the Super Eagles Supporters Club on the 6th of March 2021 by the President of the club, Prince Vincent Okumagba and was decorated by the Club's BOT chairman, Hon. Oladejo Rasheed in the full glare of other SESC members.

"It is a very great honour for me to be inducted as the Patron of a foremost Supporters Club, the Super Eagles Supporters Club, Victor Nwaribeaku said. The future belongs to the youths and we must always position ourselves as a good ambassador. I give thanks to almighty God and kudos to the leadership of Super Eagles Supporters Club for honouring me as one of their patrons.

"Like I said earlier, VCN Sports Ltd has invested and achieved milestone in grassroot sports development. We have organised 3 editions of VCN Sports football U15 tournaments. The fourth edition was hindered last year by the novel Corona virus pandemic.

"VCN Sports has also sponsored National Wheelchair long tennis tournament in the past. The records are there for all to see.

"Our company is not just into sports business, we also promotes and encourage young athletes in Nigeria. We nurture their talents, assist them in possible best way for them to actualize their dreams.

"During the last All African Games, VCN Sports was the sole supplier to Federal Ministry of Sports for all sporting equipment used in the tourney.

"Equally, so many States across the country patronised VCN Sports Ltd for sports equipment for their athletes during the last National Sports Festival. We also supplies leading fitness clubs and topmost sport personalities with needed apparels and sport gadgets for their needs.

To the glory of God, VCN has become a notable name in the world of sport equipment supply and hopefully we will achieve greater heights in the year to come."

Egypt 2025: Flying Eagles seek bronze compensation against Young Pharaohs

Seven-time champions Nigeria and hosts and four-time champions Egypt will both fight hard for the bronze medals when they clash in the third-place match of the ongoing Africa U20 Cup of Nations finals in Cairo on Sunday. Both teams were rated by pundits to emerge from their semi-final clashes, but the result went the other way and they are now due to play the losers’ final at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in downtown Cairo. Morocco and South Africa will tango in a repeat of the 1997 Final, which the Atlas Cubs won 1-0 in Meknes. It is the fifth time that Nigeria, who won the title in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 2005, 2011 and 2015 will be playing for the bronze medals. For Egypt, it will be the fourth time. Both have won the bronze medals three times previously. Also, both Nigeria and Egypt contested the 2005 Final in Cotonou, with the Flying Eagles coming out top following a 2-0 win. Isaac Promise (of blessed memory) scored both goals. As hosts in 1995, after losing their semi final tie...
