ANAMBRA FA CRISIS, SPORTS MINISTRY INVITES KEY STAKEHOLDERS TO ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION; ORDERS STAY OF ACTION ON STATE FA ELECTION

Two months after the Anambra FA Election was nulified by the Nigeria football federation executive committee, the Nigeria ministry of youth and sports development, has decided to wade into the crisis by inviting key stakehllders to an emergency meeting at the conference room of the minister's office, inside the Moshood Abiola stadium, Abuja.



In a letter sent to the chairman Anambra state sports development commission and signed by the permanent secretary in the ministry, Gabriel Aduda, the ministry said it is imperative that the Anambra state football association and other parties put an hold to all activities relating to the football election in the state immediately, pending the outcome of this meeting. 



The letter dated October 5, 2020, stated clearly that the proposed meeting slated for October 12, 2020, is part of an investigation into the crisis surrounding the Anambra state football association election based on a petition authored by Senator (Dr) Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. 

  

It will be recalled that Senator (Dr) patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, was returned unopposed in a virtual election conducted by the Jude Anyadufu led Anambra electoral committee on August 2, this year, only for the Nigeria football federation to nullify the result of the election and subsequently set up a caretaker committee to administer football activities in the state pending when fresh elections will be held in the state FA.
