Scout report: US based Micheal Nsien is too good to be left out of National reckoning

US based Nigerian tactician, Micheal Nsien has emerged as one of the favourites to coach the Under 20 National team of Nigeria but the FC Tulsa chief coach is not desperate to be head coach of either the Flying Eagles or Golden Eaglets, rather he is willing to accept whatever comes his way.

Michael Nsien, FC Tulsa coach

Nsien stands head and shoulder above his contemporaries in the race for the plum job because of his rich curriculum vitae which places him as one of Nigeria's best coaches having acquired the UEFA Licence A, B and C among other qualifications in the last ten years.

Ready also:  Nigeria need to adopt symmetry approach across the national teams- coach Michael Nsien

As head coach of FC Tulsa, Nsien has continued to learn the ropes in the second division of Major League Soccer and wants a National appointment to further boost his reputation as one of the emerging coaches in world football.

Like every ambitious coach, Michael Nsien wants to take FC Tulsa to the MLS but beyond that, he also plans to introduce his own football philosophy at the modest club and in the process, write his name in gold as one of the best coaches to ever manage the club.

To achieve these, he has invested his confidence in Nigerian players like former Super Eagles invitees, Mfom Udoh and Solomon Kwambe and he is on the look out for more exciting and talented Nigeria youth players to further beef up his team.

Nevertheless, he still has one eye on a National team appointment and says he will gladly accept to be head coach of any of the National teams or even assistant coach, as he looks for an opportunity to contribute his own quota to helping Nigeria football move to an enviable height.

As a former youth international, Nsien never had a chance to show the world what he was made of as a player with both the Under 20 and Under 23 National teams of Nigeria.

That disappointment is not weighing him down, rather it has encouraged him to aspire for an apportunity to correct the mistakes of the past. As an outsider, he seem to understand fully the problems of Nigeria football at youth level and he as promised to bring his wealth of experience to work if appointed.

The NFF will make public the list of appointed coaches for the Under 17 and Under 20 men's teams on Friday this week.

Egypt 2025: Flying Eagles seek bronze compensation against Young Pharaohs

Seven-time champions Nigeria and hosts and four-time champions Egypt will both fight hard for the bronze medals when they clash in the third-place match of the ongoing Africa U20 Cup of Nations finals in Cairo on Sunday. Both teams were rated by pundits to emerge from their semi-final clashes, but the result went the other way and they are now due to play the losers’ final at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in downtown Cairo. Morocco and South Africa will tango in a repeat of the 1997 Final, which the Atlas Cubs won 1-0 in Meknes. It is the fifth time that Nigeria, who won the title in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 2005, 2011 and 2015 will be playing for the bronze medals. For Egypt, it will be the fourth time. Both have won the bronze medals three times previously. Also, both Nigeria and Egypt contested the 2005 Final in Cotonou, with the Flying Eagles coming out top following a 2-0 win. Isaac Promise (of blessed memory) scored both goals. As hosts in 1995, after losing their semi final tie...

Bede Opara shines in Vilar de Perdizes Victory

Bede Opara stars in Vilar de Perdizes 8-1 victory. It was a goal feast for Vilar de Perdizes as they ran riot and pummeled GDC Salto 8-1 over the weekend in the Portuguese Pro-National league match. The match ended 1-1 in the 1st half but Vilar de Perdizes proves too strong for the visiting GDC Salto in the 2nd half as they scored 7 unreplied goals. Opara who was on the pitch for the entire duration of the match as his club inch closer to finishing the season on a scintillating version was happy to be back and doing what he knows how to do best. Speaking exclusive to www.cmsportz.blogspot.com after the game on Sunday, the Nigeria U23 player stated "My teammates and coach were happy with my performance in the match. Playing 90mins in my first match since the International break and after the minor injury lay off gives me more confidence as the league reach the home stretch".
