Nigeria international defender Leon Balogun has completed a short term permanent deal to continue his stay at Wigan Athletic until the end of the season.
Balogun had earlier joined Championship side Wigan in January on six months loan deal from premiership side Brighton & Hoves Albion.
Wigan Athletics also confirmed the deal on its official website as announcement was made confirming the capturing of the 32-year-old ex-Mainz 05 on a permanent loan deal.
“We can also confirm defender Leon Balogun has completed a short-term permanent transfer to Wigan Athletic, until the end of the 2019/20 season”
Meanwhile Brighton & Hoves Albion’s Manager Potter Graham has bid ferwel to the departmenting defender.
“Leon has always been extremely professional and good to work with during his time at the club, but he was finding it hard to get the game time he would have liked.
The loan move to Wigan seemed to be a good move for everyone involved, and he has made a really positive impact there.
“We would like to thank him for his contribution over the last couple of years and we wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career.” he said.
