Rohr contract extension: Give the $55,000 to a Nigerian coach- Barr. Chris Green

Former Chairman of Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Barrister Christopher Green has questioned the rational behind the move to offer Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr a contract extension having performed below expectation in his duty.
Speaking with journalists on a topmost platform NSM Rebranded, Green berate the choice of NFF for discussing contract extension instead of a possible sacking of the German tactician.

Barrister Christopher Green

"What is not clear to me is the worry to extend his (Gernot Rohr) contract. We are not talking of sack here but extension. If his contract ends he is free to go unless my guys in the NFF are satisfied with his score card or result.

"Are you telling me that Nigerians are satisfied with Rohr for winning nothing with the Super Eagles for 4 years and earning a whooping $55.000?

"As an expatriate I would have expected that he would have performed better than our indigenous coaches. If you paid him that amount just to qualify the Super Eagles then we can as well pay same to any of our coaches around and get the same result.

Gernot Rohr celebrating Nigeria's 3rd place finished at 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

"That will be more beneficial to a Nigerian coach than for an expatriate to just qualify us to tournaments, failed to get to the second round of the World cup and a modest 3rd place in Africa cup of Nations.

"The NFF under Pinnick did alot to support him. I don't think this is what the NFF wants as a result. Maigari won almost everything with Suppe Eagles and other Nigerian coaches in the lower cadre.
They should look for a world class coach to make the present crop of the Super Eagles players invincible.

Observers believe the fierce struggle for dominance may be linked to the influence such a large financial contribution would command. More troubling, however, is the absence of official clarification. All efforts to reach Browns Nigeria officials for confirmat...

Micheal Nsien, FC Tulsa Head coach "The youth teams is meant to be that way (a conduit for the senior national team). You have to have culture that buys in or accept a job based on that quality of transition. My intention are to be successful and to win games 100% but also, how do we transition players to the senior national team base on our principle, our style of play, the discipline line that we want to play within and our playing methodology. I am not sure that cohesion is in the Nigeria football setup, from top to the bottom, that the coaches...
