Blend of Japanese and Nigeria football style will restore the lost glory of Nigeria Youth teams- Oba Bolarinwa

Oba Bolarinwa is a Nigerian coach based in Japan and has enjoyed a remarkable 11 years success with different Japanese youth teams. Haven played for Prime fc of Ogbomosho and Stationary Stores of Lagos, the former 3SC feeders team player moved abroad to ply his trade in Asia and  completed his UEFA License B coaching certifications after a illustrious football career.
Oba was  integral part of coach Imama Amakapabo's team during the CHAN and Olympics qualifiers.

In recent past, the Nigeria U17 and U20 teams have flattered to deceive in major competitions and bite the dust at crucial stages, a norm Bolarinwa believes can be address if given the chance to handle any of Nigeria youth teams.

"Nigerian has always been blessed with talented players but they (players) need to be schooled on basic football education in order to compete favourable with their counterparts from other part of the world.
Our cadet players must be fortified with modern football knowledge to become technically and tactically sound"


"The football structure in Japan is very competitive which is base on modern technics and style. I have adopted Japanese style embedded with Nigeria technics in
my coaching philosophy and i strongly belief it would put our football back on winning track.

I will love to coach any of our National youth teams and if given the opportunity my approach to a major tournament will be unique. Early preparation is vital tool going to any tournament, this will afford a coach to instill his style on the team and create a synergy that will help the players to adapt to the coach's demands".

"The Japanese league is well organized, they have a short term and long term blueprints to compete against the big teams in the world.
The J-league has the Japanese league is known is already attracting big stars like ex-Spanish and Barcelona icon Andre Iniesta and the league is also enjoying robust sponsorships.

For any league to thrive cogent attention must be given to  players welfare and contracts must be honour by both parties to the latter".

Former Nigerian youth International Michael Nsien has highlighted the need for Nigeria to adopt a uniform pattern across the National teams for smooth transition of players and to achieve a visible success.
