3rd Anniversary: NSM preaches love and oneness as COVID-19 deepens.

Formost Sports WhatsApp platform Nigeria Sports Mouthpiece (NSM Rebranded) celebrated three years of existence as the most vibrant and most authoritative Nigeria sports WhatsApp group on Wednesday March 17, with a message to the world.

At a time when the world battles the scourge of the deadly Corona Virus which has killed thousands of people accross the globe and left many in fear of what tomorrow holds, Canada based media practitioner and the former media officer of the Under-20 men National football team, Adewale Ajayi who is the brain behind the setting up of NSM Rebranded, called on religious groups around the globe to use this moment for sober reflection, prayers and meditations.

He said the Corona virus has seriously crippled the world economy and has left many families mourning with just about two montha since it started from Wuhan, China

The foremost NSM Super Admin called on every one to stay united in this fight to send away an unwelcomed visitor.

As a sports WhatsApp platform, NSM is renowned for positively projecting and promoting Nigeria sportsmen and women both at home and in the diaspora in good light but the recent outbreak of this Virus, has crippled world sports, leading to a postponement of some international sporting events.

The football leagues accross Europe are also affected just as UEFA has moved the European championship to 2021 all because of the Corona Virus.
"We must all accept this as the biggest test of man's continued existence. We must strive to stay alive and stay more united in our determination to defeat this unwanted stranger. Corona Virus is of the devil and the only way to fight the devil is through fervent prayers and fasting. I am therefore calling on all World leaders to declare a day of National prayers and fasting so that we can all pray for divine intervention as that seem the only way out of this crisis" he concluded.

Ajayi who currently lives in Canada with his wife and three kids, narrates his ordeal, saying the virus have sent people off the streets of Ontario, Montreal, Halifax, New Brunswick and Ottawa the commercial capital of a country flowing with milk and honey.

He said the fear of the virus is the beginning of wisdom for all as many businesses have now closed down in fear for the worst.

For sports fans back home in Nigeria, news of the postponement of the National sports festival was greated with mixed reactions. While many saw it as a welcome relief a few, still, viewing the virus with a pinch of ignorance wanted government to defy the odds and let the competition go on as planned.

On his part,  the former board member of the Nigeria hockey federation and renowned football match commissioner, applauded the decision of the federal government in postponing the National sports festival describing it as a brilliant one. He thanked president Mohammadu Buhari for listening to the pleas of his able and always dependable sports minister, Sunday Dare, a man NSM has shown much love because of his intelligence and resourcefulness on the job.

NSM also made a passionate appeal to the Edo state government through its deputy governilor, Rt. Phillip Shuaibu who coincidentally is a member of the platform, to take advantage of the brains on the platform to further help promote the festival and give it the needed publicity.

Dream Team Keeps Dream Alive

The Nigeria U23 team defeated Libya's U23 4-0 to progress to the next round of the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as Osimhen grabs hattrick. It was a resounding victory for the Dream team as they overturned a two goal deficit suffered in the first leg. Coach Imama Amapakabo left no stone unturned as he rejigged the squad that went down in Tunis by drafting in Francis Uzoho, Osimhen, Chidozie Awaziem and Valentine Ozoruwafor from the Super Eagles to the Olympics team. It was a tedious opening 20 minutes as the Dream team struggle to find the openings while the Libyans  comfortably held on to their defensive strategies in the scorching 33°c weather temperature in Asaba. Taiwo Awoniyi failed to capitalize on a gifted opportunity in the 14 minutes as the Libyan goalkeeper parried Nwakali's freekick to his path at a close range. But Osimhen broke the deadlock in the half-hour mark when he pounce on a rebound as the Libyan goalkeeper failed to deal with another Nwak...
