Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi "I am extremely delighted to host the Super-six".

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) gets to the home stretch as it pave way for the Super-six Championship which will take center stage in Lagos from today 4th to 12th June 2019 to determine the Champions of 2018/2019 NPFL season.

The abridged league version ended with each of the two groups top 3 teams qualifies for the play-offs and will battle each other in the Super-six Championship to ascertain who wins the league and the representatives of Nigeria's club in CAF Champions league and CAF Confederation cup.
In the build up to the Super-six Championship which will hold at the  revered 'Soccer Temple', Agege Stadium in Lagos, CMSports had an exclusive (brief) interview with the Chairman, Lagos State Football Association Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi who bear his mind out on the joy to have the Super-six hold in Lagos and what LSFA aim to achieve at the end of the 8 day long event.

"I am extremely delighted to host the Super-six as LSFA Chairman. It is another evidence of the development and excitement that the LSFA is bringing to Lagosians".

When asked if Lagos state faced any stiff competition from other states  before been granted the hosting right for the Super-six or Lagos was the outright choice of LMC Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi said
"It's inconsequential at this point what the process was like but what's important we were able to secure the hosting right and we hope to maximize the opportunity it brings as the eventual hosts".

As witnessed during the Lagos state FA cup final the field was submerged by flood which makes the match between Spartan fc and Smart city abandoned for some moments, are there any measure in place to forestall future occurrence of such incident especially during the Super-six? The LSFA Chairman said
"The LSFA does not own or manage the Stadium, however it's of some consolation that once the rains stop then the flood clears relatively quickly as we saw at the Lagos State FA Cup".
When asked what the relationship between LSFA and LMC is like he said "the relationship is quite cordial. We (LMC and LSFA) work together most weekends".
And finally he bears his mind on what LSFA in particular set to achieve after the hosting of the Super-six,

Seyi said "At the end of the Super-six Championship we (LSFA) hope to have brought excitement to our fans, provide jobs in terms of security personnel, medica etc.

After the conclusion of the Abridged league of the 2018/2019 Nigerian  six teams Rangers International, Lobi Stars Enyimba, Akwa United, Kano Pillars and Ifeanyi Ubah booked play-off tickets for the Super-six from the two groups.
