Dream Stars Ladies Secures Promotion to NWPL

Dream Stars Ladies of Lagos have secured promotion to the Nigeria Women Premier League after finishing top of Group B at the Benin center of the Pro-League playoff.

Dream Stars Ladies defeated Police Ladies Machine in the first match 1-0 before confirming their place in the NWPL with another 1-0 victory against Moje Queens to finish top of Group B.

Dream Stars Ladies Captain, Judith Nwaogu expressed her excitement after leading the team to the NWPL describing it as a dream.

Meanwhile, Dream Stars Ladies Chairman, AbdulRahmon Abolore has congratulated the players, coaching crew and everybody connected to the club for gaining promotion to the Nigeria Women Premier League.

Dream Stars Ladies secured promotion to the NWPL at the expense of  Police Machine of Akwa Ibom and Moje Queens of Kwara.

Mr. Abolore also urged the Ladies not to be complacent imploring them to work harder in other to give a good account of themselves in the NWPL.

The Chairman also reserved special praise for Lagos Island Chairman, Hon. Toyese Olusi for their tremendous support and for providing the platform for the team's success.

Hon. Olusi was instrumental in the process of achieving a successful season having donated immensely towards Dream Stars Ladies participation in the Pro league play-offs.

Mr. Abolore concluded by assuring the supporters of Dream Stars Ladies that the management will provide the necessary support to ensure the team live up to expectations in the NWPLNWP

Invincible Angels will join Dream Stars Ladies in the NWPL after they finished top of the Group A in the Pro-League playoff with seven points ahead of the likes of Sa'adatu Amazons, Faith Hill and Gift of life FC in Abuja.

Olajide Omotayo shines as Nigerians dominate men's singles

Olajide Omotayo gave an inkling of what he has in stock again at the 12th African Games as the Nigerian defeated one of the continent's most celebrated star - Egypt's Ahmed Saleh 4-3 in the quarterfinal of men's singles to berth in the semifinal of table tennis. Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has disclosed that the Real Madrid Academy program in Port Harcourt will commence fresh academic session by September.
