Minister Dissolves Boards of 31 Sports Federations, Set Caretaker Committees

In keeping with the Olympic Charter which stipulates a 4 year tenure for all Sports Federations Boards following  the expiration  of the tenure of the National Olympic Sports Federations, the Minister of  of Youth and sports Development Mr Sunday Dare  has Dissolved  the boards  and constituted Caretaker Committees.   The Minister who was represented by the Director of Federation, Elites Athletes Department Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Dr. Simon Ebhojaiye  stated "Within the last 4 years, a few of the National Sports Federations Boards performed remarkably well, Having run a full Olympic cycle, the Boards of the NSFs inaugurated on 21 June, 2017 are hereby dissolved to pave way for fresh elections." NWFL Premiership Play-off holds in Benin City 7th May to 11th

The 2020/2021 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Play-off has been scheduled by the Secretariat of the NWFL, to hold in Benin City, Edo state from May 7 to 11, 2021. The venue according to the NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, has been fixed for the main bowl of the University of Benin Sports Complex, Ugbowo, Edo state. The last four teams that will participate in the play-off to determine the two teams to be relegated include; Former champions Pelican Stars of Calabar that ended the first round with 12 points, Abia Angels that finished with 11 points, Ibom Angels of Uyo with 10 points and Dream Stars of Lagos with 6 points. The NWFL C.O.O stated that only two teams will be relegated from the 2020/2021 NWFL Premiership season at the end of the play off. NPFL/La Liga U15 Promises: Katsina United bounce back to winning ways

Defending champions, Katsina United bounced back to winning ways after successfully overcoming Kano Pillars 2-1 in the NPFL/La Liga U15 Promises on Tuesday. Umar Abubakar and Khalifa Aminu handed Katsina United a two-goal lead at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. Ahmad Hassan set up a tensed home stretch when he reduced the deficit for Pillars. Heartland defeated Lobi Stars 1-0 thanks to Uzom Testimony's 19th minute goal. MFM FC weren't potent in front of goal and they drew 0-0 against Akwa United. Kwara United and Warri Wolves settled for a 0-0 draw to wrap up the day's games. Akwa United are on top of Group A with four points same with MFM FC. Heartland are third with three points while Lobi Stars are pointless after two games in the second group phase of the competition. The President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimord has described sports as an industry for human development. He said sports is a process of recracation that is rooted in identity, self determination, loyalty,  the preservation of human dignity and social pride. NWFL Premiership Super Six: Nigerian champion emerge today

The champion for the 2020/2021 NWFL Premiership season and the country's representative to the WAFU B qualifiers for the CAF Women's Champions League will emerge today at the Dipo Dina International Stadium Ijebu-Ode between Rivers Angels, Delta Queens, FC Robo and Sunshine Queens as the Super Six comes to an end after seven days of highly competitive games. The consolation game of the day between the weeping teams of the competition Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens will be played at the main bowl of the Dipo Dina International Stadium, at 10am to prepare the stage for the title games at 3pm. The title games between Rivers Angels vs Sunshine Queens, and FC Robo vs Delta Queens will be played simultaneously at 3pm at the main bowl and Practice Pitch One. Going into the final games today, Rivers Angels had eight points, same as Delta Queens, while FC Robo and Sunshine Queens had seven points each. NPFL/La Liga U15 Promises: Wolves, Heartland earn tickets to last eight Heartland sealed their passage to the round eight thanks to Chikwere Chigaemezu's 12th minute winner against defending champions Katsina United. Earlier in the day, Adamawa United stunned Rivers United 5-2. Ahmed Umaru and Mubarak Ibrahim bagged a brace each for Adamawa. Gaddafi Magaji was also on target. Egbe Kelvin's double wasn't enough for Rivers United in the seven-goal thriller. The victory leaves Adamawa United with three points from two games and they face Kastina United in the final group match. The match between Warri Wolves and MFM FC was billed an epic contest. It ended 1-0 in favour of Wolves, and the Young Seasiders can now celebrate a quarterfinal ticket.
