Anambra FA Election: NFF Mr Integrity, Ibrahim Gusau eats his own vomit as he inaugurates Caretaker committee in a crowded hall

Mr integrity Ibrahim Gusau who has gone about spreading falsehood as to why the Anambra FA election was annulled was seen in the midst of a crowded house of sports journalists and other stakeholders as he inaugurated the NFF caretaker committee saddled with the responsiblility of running football in Anambra state for the next three months.     The hall which is inside "the Bon Hotel, New big Ballers on Abakili street, has a capacity for less than 50 persons but Gusau was seen supervising the inauguration with over 20 journalists and 16 stakeholders in attendance. Today, all the usual Covid-19 protocols were not observed even as most of the journalists in attendance came without their face masks. There was no hand sanitizers at the entrance to the hall and the two meters social distancing was also not observed as the NFF chairman of chairmen shook hands with the newly inaugurated commitee members in the presence of bewildered onlookers who might be wondering why the sam...

REVEALED: 10 REASONS PINNICK WANTS UBAH OUT OF THE WAY

The last has not been heard about the cancellation of the election into executive and board members position of Anambra state FA by the NFF. Information reaching the press raise a pointer to many past feud between the key contestants in the election and major stakeholders in NFF that predates the material time which inadvertently may have led to the standoff between Amaju Pinnick led NFF and the biggest stakeholder in Anambra FA Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. Below are compiled list of previous engagement and disagreement between NFF and Chief Ubah which may have served as the precipice for the current standoff between the two warring parties involved. 1. He is angry that Senator Ubah teamed up with Alhaji Aminu Maigari in the 2018 NFF elections in Katsina, to contest against him. He said despite all entreaties he made to him, chief Ubah was resolute. This is payback time 2. Ibrahim Gusau is also angry that at that election chief Ubah contested against him for the chairman of ...

We will not fold our hands and watch anyone humiliate Senator Ubah- Balele

Katsina state FA chairman Aminu Kurfi has called on all state FA chairmen in the country to rally round Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah as he seeks to find a way out of the present political logjam occasioned by the recent ruling from the NFF. The former chairman of Katsina united football club who is loved in his state for his humility and forthrightness, has challenged all FA chairmen to rise up and speak, stressing, that what is happening in Anambra state today, will happen someday in the other 36 states if something urgent is not done to address the situation. Balele as he is fondly called by his admirers, will be remembered for putting together a free and fair NFF election in Katsina state. That elective congress which was almost marred by a court order on the eve of the election, later went ahead without any noticeable hitches or protests. All because the NFF congress stood it's ground despite glaring government interference from the former sports minister, Solomon Dalun...

Opinion: Anambra State Football, Has the NFF been hijacked? Part 1

Since the emergence of Ifeanyi Ubah as the undisputed Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association twice, the body language of the NFF has been funny if not absurd so it is necessary that we take a closer look and see if the NFF has a point after all or they are simply dancing naked in the market square. Amaju Pinnick, NFF President Before we proceed, it is vital that we take note of some key laws as enacted by the NFF Statutes of 2010, which is also assimilated down to the State Football Associations and Local Football Councils in Nigeria 1. Article 1 section 1 of the NFF statutes "The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), is a private organization of an associative nature in compliance with the laws of Nigeria" ... This simply means that just like the NFF, the Anambra State Football Association is a private organization also in compliance with the laws of Anambra State and Nigeria. Thus, it is immune to and doesn't recognise Government interference. This i...

NFF interference in Anambra FA election, a recipe for FIFA intervention

The World football governing body FIFA is totally against any form of government interference in association football and may come down hard on the Nigeria football federation NFF, if Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah submits an official complain before the FIFA ethics committee explaining the role the NFF played by scuttling a properly conducted state FA Election. It is no longer news that FIFA seriously frowns at government interference in football matters and that what happened in Anambra state is purely political and another case of government interference. Anambra state governor Willie Obiano is of the 'All Progressive Grand Alliance' APGA, while Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah his political rival, is of the 'Young Progressive party' YPP. Ubah remains the strongest opposition to APGA in the run-in to the fast approaching gubernatorial elections in the state and that has put the incumbent in a state of confusion right from the very beginning. He is also aware...

The electoral process in Anambra FA election is valid and procedural- Alloy Chukwuemeka

The Executive secretary of the Club Owners Association of Nigeria Alloy Chukwuemeka has bear out his mind on the Anambra state Football Association elections. Speaking to journalists in Ilorin on the aftermath of the crisis that is engulfing the Anambra FA election, Alloy reitirate the needs to build a strong institutions instead of building individuals.   Alloy Chukwuemeka "Before now I have been an advocate of putting in place a proper legislation to guide our Football in Nigeria and until the Nigeria Football Association (NFF) bill before the National Assembly is passed and given assent, we will continue to wallow in a directionless position. How do you implement fully the Football statutes when the law that established the NFF (NFA) made it a parastatal of government Ministry, where is the independence?. It is not about individuals but strengthening the institutions. Personally I can tell you that If we follow the provisions of the statutes and FIFA standard elector...
