Super Eagles to open camp in Abuja for AFCON preparations

The Super Eagles will begin their preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Abuja. This was revealed by the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare on Tuesday, while speaking on a TVC Sports programme in Lagos. Dare said the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Federal Capital Territory are collaborating to provide the Super Eagles with a conducive environment to train and prepare for the tournament which begins in Cameroon on the 9th of January, 2022. Dare assured that the team will not disappoint the nation at the AFCON, expressing optimism that they can do better than they did at the last edition held in Egypt in 2019. "I Am Ready For AFCON" - Victor Osimhen Assures Nigerians

Super Eagles and Napoli of Italy striker Victor Osimhen has assured Nigerians he is ready for the fast approaching 2021 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON)if picked by Super Eagles handlers. Osimhen also spoke to the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare and the president of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) Amaju Pinnick, on phone on Tuesday evening, on his availability baring unforseen circumstances. The striker returned to training some days back after undergoing surgery following the horrific face injury sustained in a serie A clash last month. Osimhen took to his verified twitter(social media networking platform)handle on Tuesday to announce his readiness to be part of the continental football showpiece starting in Cameroon on the 9th of January, 2022. "I am 100% ready to represent Nigeria at the 2021 AFCON if I am picked by the coaches," Osimhen had posted on twitter. 

Sixty Players Storm Nigerian Camp for Hockey Africa Cup of Nations.

The Nigeria Hockey Federation has released a list of 60 invited athletes (men & women) and its coaching crew in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations. The Hockey teams' have resumed camp in Abuja in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Accra, Ghana on, January 17th – 23rd, 2022. Nigeria will be hoping to improve its standing globally when it attends the 11th Men and 8th Women edition of the Africa Cup of Nations following a successful outing by its club sides at the Africa Cup for Club Champions held 23rd -30th November 2021.   The participating teams for men include – Egypt, Ghana (host), Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa (defending champions) and Uganda.   The Women will feature – Ghana (host), Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa (defending champions), Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.   The men’s team have two pro-players (Tosin Fowobaje & Wale Ajibua) who ply their trade in Italy. Kano Pillars won’t relent on title dream - Babamusa

The head coach of Kano Pillars VC, Musa Babamusa said his side will leave nothing to chance on their quest to reclaim the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League title this season.  Musa reiterated this in the wake of his team's triumph over UCEM following a 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20) win at the indoor sports hall of Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Thursday. Babamusa further noted that Pillars are poised to claim the title, stressing that the team has shown determination since the revival of the Nigerian Volleyball Premier League three years ago. “My team won 3-1 and it was a good result for me because a 3-2 against UCEM would have been a disaster. NOC AGM: Ewrujakpo Emphasises Need For Early Games Preparation

His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewurujakpo, Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, has called for early preparation for games in Nigeria. He stated this at the opening ceremony of the Annual General Meeting of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) in Yenagoa the state capital.  Ewrujakpo thanked the leadership of the NOC for all their efforts at sports development and said the cardinal points of Bayelsa State sports development was working on the areas of strength of their athletes. "We are happy to welcome all our distinguished guests to Bayelsa State for the AGM. Bullet Energy Drink Sponsorship Boost Samuel Oguche Basketball Camp

It was all excitement galore in Lokoja as the world's famous number one energy drink partners Samuel Oguche basketball camp at the on going basketball youth empowerment camp in Kogi state. NFF Executives ìn Closed Door Meeting with Sports Minister

NFF president Amaju Pinnick and General secretary Sanusi Mohammed are presently in a meeting with the honourable minister of youth and sports development Sunday Dare, permanent Secretary Alhaji Isma'il Abubakar and chief of Staff Abba Yola in Abuja.  The meeting which was called by the minister, will afford the ministry an opportunity to have first hand information on coach Gernot Rohr's contract situation and also to review the technical report on Nigeria's world cup qualifiers submitted only recently by the football house.  Today's meeting will also afford the NFF an opportunity to explain in details, all their financial requirements as Super Eagles players and officials get set to report to camp in a yet to be decided venue ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
